Interference of radiopaque diagnostic contrast material (diatrizoate meglumine) in assays of urinary amino acids.

چکیده
I further investigated sample 7 by preparing a precipitate, which I then washed twice in alkaline buffer. The supernate from the first and second washes contained 22.5 and 1.0 mg of albumin per liter, respectively, showing that albumin was recovered from the precipitate. These results indicate that the deposit formed in some urines contains albumin; centrifi.igation of samples may sometimes lead to significant underestimates of albumin concentration.

Cholografin Meglumine (lodipamide Meglumine Injection 52%) is a radiopaque contrast agent for rapid intravenous cholangiography and cholecystography supplied as a sterile, aqueous solution. Each mL provides 520 mg iodipamide meglumine; at manufacture, 3.2 mg sodium citrate buffer and 0.4 mg edetate disodium sequestering agent are added per mL. The pH has been adjusted between 6.5 and 7.7 with m...
متن کاملPurification of Piscirickettsia salmonis and partial characterization of antigens.
Piscirickettsia salmonis is the etiological agent of salmonid rickettsial septicemia, an economically significant disease affecting the salmon aquaculture industry. As with other rickettsial pathogens, antigenic analysis of P. salmonis has been limited by the inherent difficulties of purifying an intracellular organism away from host cell material. In this report, we describe the use of diatriz...
متن کاملNeuroangiography with lohexol
lohexol is a new, non ionic water-soluble contrast agent undergoing early clinical trials in the United States. Using a doubleblind , parallel format, iohexol was compared with meglumine iothalamate (60 patients) for selective cerebral angiography, and with sodium meglumine diatrizoate (40 patients) for arch aortography. lohexol produced significantly less pain than meglumine iothalamate or sod...
متن کاملEpileptogenic effects of radiographic contrast agents: experimental study.
Electrical activity in cells directly exposed to water-soluble radiographic contrast agents was investigated by intracellular recordings from neurons of the abdominal ganglia of Aplysia. Measurements of membrane resting potential, membrane conductance, synaptic and action potential configuration, and spontaneous electrical activity were performed. Test solutions included sodium diatrizoate, meg...
